We’re glad you found us!
At Pursuit Church, Pastors Ray and Pam love to teach on God’s amazing grace and the finished work of the cross. Grace is not just a message, it is the person of Jesus Christ. The grace message does not mean we don’t deal with issues, but it does remove the judgement and pressure of the performance mind-set that drives many Christians.
In July 2011, Pastors Ray and Pam Watson had the privilege of visiting New Creation Church in Singapore and spending time with Pastor Joseph Prince. This experience was life changing to them personally and became the catalyst to the emphasis now placed on the grace message at Pursuit Church in Auckland.
“After we spent time with Pastor Joseph Prince and discussed at length the importance of teaching the grace message, as we parted he said to me, “You now have a responsibility to take the grace message to New Zealand.” My wife and I are passionate about this, as our own lives have been greatly impacted by his teaching, and we would love to see New Zealand come into the fullness of everything that God has planned for us as a nation.” – Ray Watson
What is the Grace Message?
The grace message rests on the truth that it is by God’s grace we have been saved and not by our works or performance (Ephesians 2:8-9). The grace message frees us to be who Jesus made us – loved and accepted, loving and accepting.
Jesus fully identifies with us, even in our sin. He became that sin, failure and mistake so that we could become His righteousness instead. When God looks at us, He no longer sees our sin. He sees His righteousness which has been imputed to every believer. This is the amazing message of grace.
God does not want your heart full of worries and fears, tossed and turned by every challenge that comes your way. He wants your heart at rest and established by His grace toward you. When you depend on God’s grace (His undeserved, unmerited favour) your heart becomes established. God’s blessings are sure in your life because they are not dependent on your ability to keep His laws, but on Jesus’ perfect obedience.
We would love to see you this Sunday at Pursuit!
