Worship
Worship is at the core of who we are. We desire to see the manifest presence of God in our midst and to see the nature and power of God touch and impact lives. In God’s presence there is power – power to see God’s Kingdom impact our families, homes, community and marketplace. Click here to read more about the worship at Pursuit.
Connection as a Family
Church is family and being real is important to us. Pursuit provides a place of acceptance, love and fellowship. We believe relationship is the foundation of God’s government and His government is family. Belonging to a church family is God’s means to provide acceptance, nurture and growth as believers. Teaching & Ministry
Our teaching is practical and life related. We love to see people grow, develop and come to maturity in Christ. Click here to check out church courses available outside of the regular Sunday morning meeting.
At Pursuit we are a people of faith who trust in the goodness of God and believe in His promises. We believe the finished work of Christ has provided victory for every situation and wholeness in spirit, soul and body. God is a God of restoration. There is hope for every situation; forgiveness for sin and grace for every need.
We invite you to join us at Pursuit and pray you are refreshed in His Presence, strengthened by His Word and connected with His family.
Senior Leaders
Ordained as full time ministers, both Ray and Pam Watson have been pastoring for 30 years. Initially helping to pioneer a church in Hawaii, they later moved to California before returning to their homeland of New Zealand to start Joy Christian Fellowship in 1990. Pursuit was birthed in 2004 after both Ray and Pam felt God leading them in a new direction with a passion for pursuing God’s presence and seeing His glory manifested in our midst.
Together, Ray and Pam bring a rich blend of different anointings to the church. Pam is a gifted pastor and teacher. With her gentle spirit she brings a challenging word and a depth to the Scriptures. She combines a love for His presence with a desire to see people grow, change and come to maturity.
Ray has a strong calling in the area of worship and the prophetic. He has an Honours Degree in Music and has recorded nine worship albums through his music ministry The Secret Place. With a passion to see hearts turned back to the Father through intimate praise and worship, Ray brings a strong worship focus to the flavour of Pursuit.
Affilliations & Connections
Pursuit Church is connected with Bethel Church, in Redding California. As pastors of Pursuit, Ray and Pam are part of the Bethel Leaders Network (BLN). The Bethel Leaders Network provides a place of intentional relationship, covering and resourcing from Bethel. BLN is an apostolic family of leaders united with Bethel in passionate pursuit of God’s manifest presence and committed to revival – the personal, regional, and global expansion of God’s Kingdom. Pursuit is also influenced by Joseph Prince Ministries (New Creation Church, Singapore), and emphasizes the importance of the grace message. God’s amazing grace and His righteousness has been imputed to every believer. Click here to read more about the grace message at Pursuit Church.
Real accountability comes through relationship (1 Cor. 4:15). God has given Ray and Pam spiritual fathers in Col and Jan Stringer. Together they currently serve on Pursuit’s Board of Trustees and aid the pastors in corporate affairs and legal advice. Ray and Pam also have close friendships with Rob & Lyn Packer (XP Ministries, NZ) Peter Robertson (Worship Ministries International, Australia), and other New Zealand pastors and leaders. These ministry relationships provide strength, friendship and accountability as pastors. Click here to read more about Pursuit‘s connections and relationships.
